The West End Food Co-op is putting out a call to volunteers to help in our 2010 projects! There have been many community members actively helping out at the farmer’s market, and many more who have signed up as potential volunteers.
Here are some of the specific areas we need help with now. These areas may change as the co-op continues to grow. If there are other talents and skills that you’d like to use, please let us know on the volunteer sign-up sheet below.
Outreach & Promotions
This volunteer team will help us to get the word out about WEFC events. Possible duties include:

Postering and flyering for events and farmer’s market

Arranging WEFC materials for tabling and events

Tabling at food and green events in the city
-
Write for monthly Co-op newsletter
-
Posting events to online and community listservs
-
Canvassing for the Bond Campaign
Website and Graphic Design
We need help maintaining a vibrant and active website. You would work with our resident tech-expert and website committee. Here are some of the tasks involved:

CiviCRM database maintenance and updating

Website layout and design
-
Drupal Development (html code)
-
Graphic design
Farmers’ Market
The Sorauren Farmers' Market is the backbone of the West End Food Co-op. We need help with:

Promotions—work with the outreach team to ensure the Farmers’ Market is well-promoted in the neighbourhood

Set-up team (during the day on Mondays—around 2:00)

Clean-up team (Monday evenings, after the market closes at 7:00)
Some other ways to participate
WEFC directors can come give a public presentation on Buying Bonds to small groups or at community meetings. Please contact us for more information and to book a presentation.
