Getting Saucey in Parkdale
This past Tuesday, James Partanen and Heather Kilner led an enthusiastic group of WEFC members in a preserving workshop at the Parkdale Neighbourhood Church. Participants learned how to make apple butter and apple sauce using local apples from Two Century Farm and partook in a discussion about the social and historical significance of preserving and community canneries. Visit our Cannery Page to check out the apple sauce recipe from the workshop and stay tuned for more information on our May workshop and upcoming Community Shared Orchard.
