There are many ways you can participate actively in and contribute to the Co-op:
- Join. It costs only 5 $CAD for a lifetime membership. Shows your support, and it gets you discounts at some WEFC events.
- Purchase a Bond. By investing in West End Food Co-op, you bring us significantly closer to reaching our goal of opening our Food Hub this year.
- Donate. We gladly also accept donations to help us along the way. Every donation makes a difference.
- Subscribe to the e-mail Newsletter. It's free and will let you know about the latest updates from us, and about upcoming events.
- Volunteer. Many skills are needed.
We are looking for another $80,000 in bonds and donations to complete our initial budget (total $240,000) for store opening. We have raised over $125,000 already from the initial bond campaign, and received support from various organizations to help move this project forward.
Your bond purchase makes an enormous difference in bringing Food Close to Home.
The West End Food Co-op is creating a Food Hub on the lower level of the Parkdale Community Health Centre at Queen and Dufferin. This unique opportunity links two non-profit, community-oriented organizations in food security work to create a stronger and healthier west end. Construction has been taking place over the past year, and we are very close to being able to open. However, in order to open our doors, WEFC needs to raise the remaining funds through investments and fund-raising that will create a community food hub that we can all be proud of.
